Justin Barbour is an accomplished adventurer, teacher, and public speaker. This July he will be leaving on his largest journey yet - Crossing the Labrador peninsula by foot and canoe to the shores of Hudson Bay. Along with his dog Saku, the pair will begin a 1700km (1050 mile) journey from North West River, Labrador.
Here at WaterLily, we're extremely excited to be supporting Justin on this trip, along with some other great sponsors including MEC and the Royal Canadian Geographical Society.
Justin will be bringing a WaterLily Turbine as part of his kit to generate power from Labrador’s waterways. He’s planning to capture and record some of the last untouched wilderness within the Labrador peninsula, and will have a few cameras and a Garmin inReach with him that will need power over the 1400km journey.
Justin is no stranger to these adventures having completed another trek just last summer, crossing the island of Newfoundland from west to east in 68 days.
Throughout the trip Justin will be posting daily updates to his Facebook and Twitter from his GPS, and Instagram when coverage allows. Be sure to follow these feeds, and check out his YouTube page for videos of his other adventures. We’ll also be re-posting Justin’s updates as he makes them to keep you informed on his progress this summer!
